Vintage Pattern Hoard

Saturday evening my mum phoned to say she had a present for me. Having been to visit Nicks mum, Grandma Sheila for for 86th Birthday, they were returning home with a big box of vintage patterns for me. Sheila kindly let me have the fantastic collection of patterns, she has amounted over the years.

Thank you Sheila, I have been hoping that someone would have some tucked away and realise I will put them to good use. About half of the patterns are pre 1971, the price is printed on them and in 1971 our money switched to the decimal system. I am very excited to give some a try. There was also a tracing wheel and paper in the stash, lucky me.

The one on the right below says Young Designer Mary Quant : )

  4. What a great find - the challenge will be, which one first?! Love the mod dress patterns at the top. Though had to have a little chuckle at the drawings on 2511 - was struggling to breathe just looking at those waist proportions!!. What are the instructions like on these vintage patterns?

  6. I love that 2511 and the one next to it with the little jacket. I used to have a tiny waist way back- not now. I wonder what those styles would look like on me now?l The little jacket might work. Actually, the tops not so fitted would work. The necklines were what I noticed.

    Enjoy, enjoy.
